Copper prices climbed to their highest level in a month

Copper prices climbed to their highest level in a month, on Tuesday as a weaker dollar and continued copper purchasing in China promoted gains for the red metal.

Three-month copper prices on the London Metal Exchange were last at $7,148 a tonne, up about $54 from the previous session, according to Reuters. However, earlier in the session today, copper reached a session high of $7,188 a tonne – the highest price in a month.

On the Comex in New York, copper futures for March delivery rose $0.17 to $3.27 a pound, The Wall Street Journal reported.
