Reuters reported copper on the London Metal Exchange fell 0.4 percent to reach $6,121.25 a tonne.

Unlike gold and silver, copper fell to a significant low on Wednesday. Copper was trading near a four-and-a-half year low due to fears that low oil prices may be the beginning of a major economic slowdown, according to multiple sources.

However, issues in Greece and weak demand from China were also cited as causes.

Reuters reported copper on the London Metal Exchange fell 0.4 percent to reach $6,121.25 a tonne. Meanwhile, iNVEZZ.com reported copper on the Comex fell 0.1 percent to reach $2.7580 per pound.
