The potash space has been facing difficulties for some time, and 2015’s first quarter was quite the roller coaster ride. Still, many remain positive, and Potash Investing News’ top five stories from the last three months shows that a slew of market participants are still optimistic about the market.

The potash space has been facing difficulties for some time, and 2015′s first quarter was quite the roller coaster ride.

Indeed, with a massive deal between China and Belarusian Potash Company that created a benchmark price lower than producers had hoped for, Saskatchewan implementing a new potash tax and analysts predicting lower prices to come, it hasn’t been the most positive first quarter to say the least.

Still, many remain positive, and Potash Investing News’ top five stories from the last three months, listed below, reflect that a slew of market participants are still optimistic about the market.

1. Execs Weigh in on Macquarie’s Potash Price Outlook

When Macquarie Group’s potash price predictions were published last month, the firm said it saw no price upside for the next four years. However, after speaking with CEOs from IC Potash (TSX:ICP) and Gensource Potash (TSXV:GSP) and the senior vice president at Allana Potash (TSX:AAA), it became clear to Potash Investing News that the predictions didn’t bother them. Click here to read the full story.

2. South Boulder Mines Completes Colluli Project Technical Assessment, Confirms Feasibility of Process Design

Australian company South Boulder Mines (ASX:STB) caught the attention of readers when it completed a technical review of the prefeasibility study process design, process design criteria, metallurgical testwork, plant configuration and process equipment list for the Colluli project in Eritrea. As Russia’s Uralkali (MCX:URKA,LSE:URALL) and the Belarusian Potash Company battled over big contracts in China, India and the US and in turn, created a competitive price market, it was difficult to see where producers in North America fit into the price war.
