5 Top TSXV Stocks: Golden Dawn Minerals Takes the Lead
The TSX Venture Exchange capped a strong week with a 1.14-percent gain that brought the index to 698.88. Golden Dawn Minerals was the top gainer for the week, followed by Cypress Development, Lion One Metals, Merrex Gold and Foran Mining.
Golden Dawn Minerals (TSXV:GOM) was the top gainer for the week, followed by Cypress Development (TSXV:CYP), Lion One Metals (TSXV:LIO), Merrex Gold (TSXV:MXI) and Foran Mining (TSXV:FOM).
Golden Dawn Minerals
Golden Dawn Minerals is currently in the development stage at several properties in the Greenwood area of B.C.
The company has not released any news since March 26, when it announced its purchase of the Amigo Property. Shares of the company rose 51.52 percent over the last week to close at $0.25.
Cypress Development
Cypress Development saw its share price increase to $0.12 for a 26.32 percent gain for the week. The company owns the Gunman zinc and silver project in Nevada as well as the McKenzie Island gold property located in northern Ontario.
The company did not release any news that would explain the rise in share price.
Lion One Metals
Lion One Metals owns the Tuvatu Gold Project in Fiji. In March, it announced receipt of a mining lease that allowed the company to proceed with further development on the property as they advance the project towards production. The company has released no news since that time. This week, shares climbed 26.09 percent to hit $0.29.
Merrex Gold
Merrex Gold owns properties in Nova Scotia, Canada and Mali, West Africa. On April 7, the company announced the continuation of drilling at its African Siribaya Gold Project. The company is still awaiting assays on holes drilled previously, and will expand its drilling efforts throughout 2015. Merrex is targeting the completion of a resource estimate for the project by the end of 2015. Drilling in 2014 confirmed gold mineralization spread of a wide area within the property. Shares of Merrex gained 25 percent this week, finishing at $0.18.
Foran Mining
Exploration and development company Foran Mining wholly owns the McIlvenna Bay copper-zinc-gold-silver project in Saskatchewan’s Flin Flon mining belt, in addition to number of other projects region. On April 1 the company announced the discovery of high-grade zinc at their Bigstone deposit, just 25 kilometers south west of the McIlvenna Bay deposit.
Shares of Foran gained 24.44 percent to finish the week at $0.28.
