Identillect Technologies (TSXV:ID, OTCQB:IDTLF) announced on Wednesday that Mississippi Bar has selected Delivery Trust as preferred solution for its Bar members to meet the regulatory requirements to protect sensitive communications.
As quoted in the press release:
As the legal community has become more concerned about cyber-security attacks across the United States, Identillect continues to grow the number of bar associations they serve. Identillect has recently started providing its services to 6 Bar Associations, and this growth is expected to continue during 2019 as the need for state data handling regulations tighten.
The Mississippi Bar was organized in 1906 to serve its members, the legal profession, and the public. The Bar strives to maintain the honor and dignity of the profession of law, cultivate professional ethics among its members, and promote improvements in the law. Today, all of Mississippi’s 9000 active lawyers are members of The Mississippi Bar. This new partnership between The Mississippi Bar and Identillect further supports the Bar’s commitment to serving their members by taking a firm stance against cyber-threats to assist in the protection of their members and the public.
Pat Bennett, President of The Mississippi Bar, “The Mississippi Bar recognizes the importance of cyber-security protection and education in the modern practice of law, and we are excited about this opportunity to provide discounted access to a well-respected security platform to our members.”
Identillect CEO Todd Sexton states, “Identillect is honored to be the security solutions provider for The Mississippi Bar. The Mississippi Bar has a long-standing tradition of being an invaluable resource for their members, and Identillect is excited to be a part of this tradition. Mississippi has a strong legal community who is taking cyber-security seriously. Identillect continues to be a strong resource for the legal community, and we anticipate the growth and value we provide to state bar associations to increase.”
In a recent American Bar Association article, David Ries, a well-known lawyer and author on cyber-security stated, “Confidential data in computers and information systems, including those used by attorneys and law firms, faces greater security threats today than ever before—and they continue to grow! Security breaches are becoming so prevalent that there is a new mantra in cybersecurity today: “It’s when not if,” a law firm or other entity will suffer a breach.” In an ABA Tech Report 2017 article they highlighted that lawyers are being specifically targeted.
