Lantronix (NASDAQ:LTRX) announced that Gene Schaeffer has joined the company as the head of sales for the Americas region.

A global provider of secure data access and management solutions for the industrial Internet of Things (IoT), Lantronix will benefit from Schaeffer’s 20 years experience.

As quoted in the press release:

“With more than 20 years of experience in building and leading successful enterprise sales teams, we believe that Gene will be a key contributor in driving Lantronix toward greater success in the Americas market,” said Kevin Yoder, Lantronix vice president of worldwide sales. “We are very excited and pleased to have someone with Gene’s experience, leadership and relationships joining the Lantronix sales organization.”

“Lantronix has a solid reputation for delivering innovative solutions for the industrial IoT marketplace,” said Schaeffer. “I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with Kevin and the rest of the Lantronix leadership team to help grow our business in the Americas region.”

Prior to joining the Company, Schaeffer served as senior vice president of global sales for OCZ Storage Solutions, a Toshiba Group Company, where he was instrumental in expanding the company’s enterprise footprint while growing commercial revenues. Prior to joining OCZ, he was executive vice president of worldwide sales for PLX Technology, a global provider of semiconductor-based connectivity solutions, where he was a key contributor in the development and implementation of an organization-wide transformation that led the company to record revenues and profitability, and eventual acquisition by Avago Technologies. Schaeffer has held various senior management positions at other technology companies including PulseCore Semiconductor, Exar Corporation and Cypress Semiconductor.
