Spring Singapore and the National Research Foundation have announced the establishment of a National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster to help companies in the region to develop 3D printing capabilities.

Spring Singapore and the National Research Foundation have announced the establishment of a National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster to help companies in the region to develop 3D printing capabilities.
According to an article on Channel News Asia:

Second Minister for Trade and Industry S Iswaran announced the formation of this cluster at industry event TechInnovation 2015 on Tuesday. This initiative will enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore to use 3D printing in their manufacturing process in more cost-effective ways.
The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) will lead this new cluster, together with the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
This means that companies can enhance their products and services that are related to 3D printing, by tapping on the expertise and research facilities of the three universities.
Mr Sean Looi, general manager of Creatz3D, said: “As an SME, we might not have access to a lot of the expertise that is available right now with the clusters, thus it is important for us to look at leveraging on the different expertise that we have in Singapore to build on to our capabilities.”
