This morning, silver was up $0.12, to $20.79 an ounce, according to Reuters. Prices for the white metal shed 3 percent during the previous session, hitting a four-week low.

Silver futures for December delivery also increased today, rising $0.022, to $20.80 an ounce, on the COMEX in New York, Kitco News reported.

The white metal was spurred upward by the stabilization of the dollar and mixed signals from the US Federal Reserve on when it will taper its stimulus program. Atlanta Fed President Dennis Lockhart said recently that tapering could begin in the middle of next month, but also hinted that the Fed could wait longer to pull back, Reuters said.
