Investment and Manufacturing Demand Push Silver to Record Yearly Average

Mining Weekly reported that the World Silver Survey said silver prices reached a record average of $35.12 in 2011.

As quoted in the market news:

Silver bullion bar investment grew by 67% to 95.7-million ounces, while global coins and medals fabrications rose by about 19% to an all-time record of 118.2-million ounces.
