As quoted in the market news:

Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. (IMP) , the second-biggest producer of the metal, advanced for a third day, adding 0.7 percent to 170.77 rand. Platinum gained as much as 0.6 percent to $1,434.50 an ounce, a third day of rises.

Lonmin Plc (LMI) , the third-biggest platinum miner, climbed 1.4 percent to 128.51 rand.
