Eyewitness news reported today that a platinum mineworker was attacked near Rustenberg in South Africa. The worker was not participating in the near four month long strike that has continued due to wage disputes between platinum mining companies and South Africa’s Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union.

The employee from Aquarius Mine was attacked allegedly by Associated Mineworkers Construction Union (Amcu) members who’ve been on strike since January. The police’s Thulani Ngubane said they already have two people in custody.
