    Bloomberg reports that precious metals are holding steady although they may fall as the debt ceiling debate continues in the US.

    The market news is quoted as saying,

    Platinum futures for October delivery lost $3.90, or 0.2 percent, to $1,790.10 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Palladium futures for September delivery gained $1.75, or 0.2 percent, to $810.75 an ounce on the Nymex.
