Continental Balks at Rare-Earth Prices

Financial Times reported that auto parts maker Continental (NYSE:CLR) is facing supply burdens due to high costs for rare earths.

As quoted in the market news:

The car-parts supplier noted that the price of the dysprosium rare-earth used in magnets for electric motors had risen nearly 20-fold since 2010, “placing an extreme burden on our component suppliers”.
