Jakarta Globe reported that SMR Utama plans to double manganese production to appease demand from Asian countries.

As quoted in the market news:
SMR forecasts production of manganese this year at 31,000 tons, compared to output of 13,500 tons in 2010. Adi said production had reached 28,000 tons in the first nine months of this year — all of which went to China.
