Mining Weekly reported that Galaxy Resources (ASX:GXY) will restart full operations of its China based Jiangsu plant by February next year. In late November, a fiberglass pipe exploded, which injured a number of people working in the said site.

As quoted in the market news:

“The ASX-listed Galaxy reported on Thursday that the local safety bureau had not released the incident site to the company to start clean-up and refurbishment activities. The miner was proposing to refurbish the affected area, including replacing the ruptured pipe work.

Subject to government approval to reopen the site, the Jiangsu lithium carbonate plant would likely restart operations in early February.

The remainder of the site was released last week for further safety inspections and scheduled shutdown and maintenance work. So far, Galaxy had replaced some of the inlet kiln refractory and installed additional kiln filters.”
