Iron ore production in the United States fell 7.1 percent between January and February and is down 8.7 percent year on year, reports the US Geological Survey. Shipments and exports were also down.

As quoted in the news report:
In February, US iron ore exports amounted to 483,000 tonnes falling strongly by 52.65% month on month. Iron ore exports to Canada, the largest iron ore export destination of the US totaled 331,000 tonnes down 60% while exports to Mexico amounted to 103,000 tonnes falling 15% both compared to January.
