The Australian reported that BHP Billiton (NYSE:BHP) has evacuated its Port Hedland export facilities as a category 2 cyclone is headed for the coast of Western Australia.
As quoted in the publication:
The Australian government’s Bureau of Meteorology on Friday said Tropical Cyclone Stan had formed north of Western Australia and was likely to cross the coast as a category-two cyclone on Saturday somewhere near Port Hedland, home to the world’s largest iron ore export hub. It said the region could face heavy rainfall and “destructive winds,” with gusts of more than 90 miles an hour.
