Atlas formally applies to expand Wodgina iron-ore operations

Mining Weekly reports Atlas Iron (ASX:AGO) has  applied to the federal government to expand its Wodgina iron-ore operations.

The market news is quoted as saying,

At the current rate of production of 4,5-million tons, the mine life for Anson is around four-and-a-half years, but with the addition of the Avro, Dragon and Constellation openpits, another two to three years would be added, Altas said.

The cumulative mine life is expected to be around seven-and-a-half years.
