The improvement followed weeks of gains by the metal fueled by lower-than-anticipated supply and continued attempts at economic stimulus from China, the leading copper consumer.
Weak U.S. economic data released on Tuesday, and a report from the recent Federal Reserve meeting will impact prices through the remainder of the week.
Copper for July delivery dipped 0.8 percent to trade at $2.764 a pound on the Comex, according to Investing.com.
