Antofagasta’s Q2 Output Surges 9.1 Percent

Bloomberg reported that Antofagasta Plc’s (LSE:ANTO) second quarter output surged 9.1 percent due to increased activity at its Esperanza mine and Los Pelambres deposit.

As quoted in the market news:

Copper production climbed to 173,200 metric tons in the three months through June from 158,700 tons a year earlier, the London-based company said in a statement today. First-half output was 336,000 tons, up 17 percent from a year earlier.
