Western Areas Releases Annual Report for Year Ended June 30
The company shipped 20,500 tonnes of nickel to customers in the 2017-18 year.
Western Areas (ASX:WSA) has released its annual report, highlighting a AU$12 million net profit after tax, 20,500 tonnes of nickel shipped to customers and early works commenced at the Odysseus nickel project in Western Australia.
Managing director of Western Areas, Daniel Lougher said:
“The company’s direction for the 2018 Financial Year was to focus on organic growth through a variety of strategic initiatives that continue to strengthen Western Areas’ position in the market. The aim has been to strive to achieve a safe working environment, productivity and efficiency throughout our operations. In line with this, the completion of our mill recovery enhancement project was a significant achievement in FY18 and allows us to capture more value from every tonne of nickel mined.”
