Siyata Mobile (TSXV:SIM) announced the Canadian launch of Siyata’s Uniden UV350, a cellular IoT device designed for commercial fleets and vehicles.
The company said that Uniden UV350 is the world’s first and only 4G LTE in-vehicle device.
As quoted in the press release:
The UV350 provides its enterprise customers with the first ever dedicated in-vehicle Push-to-Talk (“PTT”) cellular solution built for the specific requirements of commercial vehicles. Features such as in-cabin noise cancellation, increased cellular signal coverage, unparalleled sound quality, extra-large 5.5” wide screen and large one-touch buttons allow drivers to “keep their eyes on the road, and hands on the wheel.”
The Uniden® UV350 is available later in 2018 through Bell Mobility on Canada’s largest LTE network.
“Siyata’s goal to provide customers with a safe, PTT-enabled device is an important achievement not only for us, but for Canada’s professional drivers as a whole,” said Marc Seelenfreund, CEO and Chairman of Siyata Mobile. “The current status quo of multiple single-purpose hardware in a vehicle poses both a physical and mental distraction to drivers, and we are committed to providing a solution that puts safety first. The UV350 gives customers a reliable and quick connection to a single or group of drivers instantly with the push of a button, making it a less distracting more connected experience.”
The Uniden® UV350 equipped with Bell-enabled PTT allows enterprise customers to connect with any one vehicle driver, or a group of up to 249 drivers at one time. This PTT technology with the UV350 gives drivers the ability to communicate through a dedicated microphone and 20-Watt speaker, which provide crystal clear audio instantly at the touch of a button. A full complement of PTT accessories is also available making PTT communications with the UV350 safe and efficient.
The UV350 is an Internet of Things (“IoT”) device purpose-built to upgrade in-vehicle hardware to an advanced cellular-based solution for safer communication and navigation. The UV350 provides in-vehicle capabilities that have yet to be seen within the commercial fleet and vehicle market, making the device unparalleled on a global scale.
The technical specifications of the Uniden® UV350 make this tablet-style communicator appropriate for vertical markets in the trucking industry including first responders, mining, oil and gas, forestry, transportation, heavy equipment, school busses and more. These specifications include the device’s in-vehicle installation that ensures true GPS location of the fleet; an in-vehicle high-speed Wi-Fi hot spot for on-the-go service; an external antenna for extended cellular and GPS coverage; and Android OS to download Play Store apps that are relevant for fleet vehicles.
