iPass (NASDAQ:IPAS), a leading provider of global mobile connectivity and location technology announced that it has been chosen by a major multinational airline in Latin America to provide connectivity for its pilots.
The company said that the airline employees with the help of its iPass SmartConnect can enjoy optimal connectivity on air as well as on ground.
As quoted in the press release:
The partnership will keep the airline’s pilots automatically connected to the best data network available, ensuring productivity and security while providing the pilots with a valued employee benefit.
Using iPass SmartConnect, the airline’s pilots will be able to seamlessly and securely connect to millions of iPass Wi-Fi hotspots, automatically transitioning back to cellular when Wi-Fi is not available. In turn, the company will be able to manage how its devices connect, providing automatic connections across all of iPass terrestrial and inflight networks, while optimizing for performance and cost.
“Whether on the ground or in the air, enterprises need the convenience and security of essentially ubiquitous connectivity,” said Patricia Hume, COO at iPass. “iPass SmartConnect will give pilots easy and automatic access to the data that matters wherever they travel, while giving the business the assurance of secure, reliable and cost effective connectivity for some of its most important employees.”
