Ecology and Environment, Inc. (NASDAQ:EEI) was part of a joint U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) team presented with the 2016 GreenGov Presidential Award for Green Innovation at a White House ceremony last week. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the pursuit of President Obama’s Federal sustainability goals in accordance with his 2009 Executive Order on Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance.
E & E began working with the USACE Fort Worth District and the Fort Hood Army Base Department of Real Property and Planning in 2005 to develop its Comprehensive Asset Master Planning Solution (CAMPS), a software tool that helps evaluate and prioritize the sustainability and energy efficiency needs of an installation. E & E is currently working with USACE Fort Worth and the US Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory to integrate CAMPS with their Net Zero Planning (NZP) system at Fort Hood and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. As acknowledged by the award, the tools help these installations to optimize their use of assets and energy resources, and to save money.
“We’re very pleased to be recognized for our efforts in bringing innovation to the important work of advancing energy efficiency and for helping to improve the sustainability of these installations for fulfilling their missions,” said E & E president and CEO Gerard A. Gallagher III.
Headquartered in Lancaster, N.Y., E & E has completed thousands of projects for a wide variety of clients, including some of the most iconic, high-profile projects in the world. E & E is listed on the NASDAQ under the symbol EEI, and the information contained in this press release is available on the Company’s website at www.ene.com.
