Spot silver is down $0.13, at $23.69 an ounce, about 22 percent lower than this time last year, Reuters reported. However, silver for July delivery on the COMEX in New York reached $23.67 an ounce, up $0.01.
Silver futures increased today while gold and platinum fell, Bloomberg reported. Sun Yonggang, a macroeconomic strategist at Everbright Futures, a unit of one of China’s largest state-owned investment companies, said investors are losing interest in gold.
