Kitco reported that silver and gold were pushed higher today due to new US durable goods data reported this morning. The data shows that durable good orders fell 7.3 percent in July. Further, a poll of economists taken this weekend indicates that the Federal Reserve may ease its monthly bond buying in September.

Silver futures for December delivery also edged higher today, rising to $24.335 an ounce, an increase of $0.559, Bloomberg reported. That is the highest level seen since May 6.
