Hecla Mining 1Q Net Income Doubles

CNBC News reported that profits for Hecla Mining (NYSE:HL) doubled in first quarter 2011.

The results widely beat analyst expectations for net income of 11 cents per share on $119.9 million in revenue. Shares of Hecla jumped 42 cents, or 5.2 percent, to $8.51 in midday trading.
