Zimbabwe’s Platinum Miners Considering Forming Association

Mining Weekly reported platinum miners in Zimbabwe are contemplating forming an association to deal with changes affecting the sector.

As quoted in the market news:

Zimbabwe’s platinum miners have been pressured into funding community share schemes in partial compliance with the country’s indigenisation programme. They have tried, without success, to nego-tiate alternative plans for complying with the indigenisation programme in a manner that would exempt them from transferring 51% of their equity to indigenous Zimbabweans.
