Precious Metals Surge on Soft Dollar

CNBC reported precious metals recovered from a steep decline as a drop in the dollar index helped raise prices for commodities.

The market news is quoted as saying,

Platinumwas up 1.4 percent at $1,568.80 an ounce, while palladiumwas up 3.6 percent at $650.20 an ounce.

Gold’s premium over platinum stood at nearly $90 on Wednesday, with a ratio of 1.06, its highest in 20 years.
