FM reported at least 1,3moz of new platinum group metal production is projected to come on stream in the next six years from mines that are already digging.
As quoted in the market news,
Those already out of the starting blocks include Wesizwe Platinum’s Frischgewaagd-Ledig mine, which will start shaft sinking next year, and the nearby Platinum Group Metals (PTM) Maseve Project One, in which Wesizwe has a 26% interest. Another neighbour, Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat), has begun shaft sinking at its R11,6bn Styldrift mine.
