Mineweb reported labour unrest in South Africa’s platinum belt is worrying India’s jewelers.

As quoted in the market news:

Jewellery demand is set to drop off if prices rise significantly, they say.

And, though retailers insist that Indian consumers would not be swayed by across-the-counter  prices going up by 3%, anything more than that would definitely diminish demand in the country.
