Impala Platinum: Zimbabwe Govt Wants 50% of Unit’s Mining Claims

Bloomberg reported that Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. said the government of Zimbabwe wants 50% of its mining claims in the country, or about 27,948 hectares of land.

As quoted in the market news:

Implats and its Zimplats Holdings Ltd. (ZIM) unit “are taking legal advice in order to protect their rights and, in addition, remain in consultation with the relevant government authorities,” the Johannesburg-based company said in a statement today.
