Harmony’s Papua Operation May Be Three Times Bigger Than Its Largest Mine

Bloomberg reported that Harmony Gold’s (NYSE:HMY) joint venture program in Papua New Guinea may be significantly larger than its biggest mine.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Harmony, which produced 1.43 million ounces of gold last fiscal year, is digging mines abroad as depleted South African reserves become more difficult and dangerous to mine, and as labor and electricity costs rise.
