Today, gold fell 0.2 percent, or $2.67, to $1,334.80 an ounce, according to Reuters. Meanwhile, US gold futures for April delivery dropped $2.70, to $1,335.10; they hit a four-month high in the previous session.

The decline came as investors exercised caution ahead of the release of US data. Recent reports from the US and China also worried investors as they cast doubts on the outlook for the world economy.

“The drives for gold have not changed much … The U.S. data has continued to be on the weak side, the dollar has been a bit under pressure again,” ABN Amro analyst Georgette Boele told Reuters.
