Global Gold Production May Rise Short Term But Will Then Decline

Mineweb reported on GFMS World Gold Limited’s Managing Director Paul Burton’s comments that gold exploration is proving less successful than it has in the past.

The analyst said that on a global basis, gold mine production was up 3% to a new record of 2652 tonnes for 2010 with Australia, China, Argentina and the United States being the main beneficiaries, with gold output falling in South Africa, Peru and Indonesia.
