Bloomberg reported today that, following a breakdown of talks with offshore-platform oil workers in Norway last week, wage negotiations with oil-service unions could also fail, signaling danger of an imminent strike. Norway is the largest producer of oil and gas in Europe, Bloomberg wrote.
As quoted in the publication:
In the three-day talks starting today for about 6,000 workers at companies such as Halliburton Co. (HAL) and Schlumberger Ltd. (SLB), unions will seek higher increases than they sought in separate negotiations for offshore-platform workers that partially broke down last week, said theIndustry Energy union, which represents about 90 percent of the oil-service workers.
