Packaged Heating Elements for Furnaces – Tungsten

Azom reports that tungsten, and other precious metals, may be a better choice for furnace heating elements as they are an oxygen-sensitive material.

The market news is quoted as saying,

Tungsten exhibits many of the properties shown by molybdenum in its mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical properties. It is also found in the same forms as molybdenum. Tungsten is less ductile and is more difficult to work with.
