Casper Journal reported that Wyoming may have excellent potential for rare earth mining.

As quoted in the market news:

Rare Elements Resources has drilled upward of 50,000 feet of core and bulk samples in the mine area to establish the quality and location of the deposits, along with the economic feasibility of the project. It’s also set up a pilot plant in Colorado to test different methods of producing the rare earth oxide concentrate.

Rare Element Resources’ VP of Government Affairs and Community Relations, George Byers said:

What we’ve found in the Bear Lodge Mountains is something that’s very unique. We believe it’s nationally significant. It’s significant to energy security, to the high tech industry in America, and it’s very significant to national defense.
