Lower Prices Hurt Rare Earth Industry

CPI Financial reported that plans to develop rare earth mines outside of China may be hampered by falling rare earth prices.

As quoted in the market news:

The light rare earths have experienced the sharpest export price drops. Cerium oxide, an abundant rare earth used in glass polishing, has dropped 57 per cent from mid July to a range of $55-75kg.
