The Age reported that the technology for vanadium redox batteries, considered to be a solution for clean power generation in the US and beyond, was developed in Australia.
As quoted in the market news:
The inventor of the vanadium redox battery is Maria Skyllas-Kazacos, a professor at the University of New South Wales, who first patented it in 1986. She had a dream that it would some day be taken up by an Australian manufacturer and would help Australia lead the world in making renewable power work. But this never occurred as local investors shied away.
