New Manganese Furnace Paves Way for BHP Beneficiation

Mining Weekly reported that the largest operating furnace of in the world has opened at Samancor Manganese’s Metalloys, which will grant BHP to beneficiate close to 30 percent of the manganese ore it mines in the area.

As quoted in the market report:

BHP Billiton Manganese South Africa president Ravi Moodley said the beneficiation of close to 30% of the manganese ore mined represented the highest percentage of beneficiation in South Africa’s manganese industry.
