Smaller Miners Need Protection from Corrupt Government Officials in the DRC: Report

The Financial Mail reported that wide-spread corruption of government officials in the DRC threatens the viability of numerous artisanal miners, who are trying to take advantage of the country’s vast resource base.

As quoted in the market report:

SARW estimates there could be between 370000 and 600000 artisanal miners in the DRC, mining for gold, copper, cobalt and other minerals.
