Zinc mine expansion means hundreds of jobs for Mount Isa

ABC .com reports that an expansion of one of the largest zinc mines in the world, owned by Xstrata(LON:XTA), will create hundreds of jobs, and may also signal a mining boom for the region.

The Xstrata-owned George Fisher mine in Mount Isa in north-west Queensland will ramp up its production with the aim of producing 30 per cent more zinc from 2013.
