Mitsui Mining Seeks Zinc Imports as Japan Capacity Down 60 pct

Reuters Africa reports Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co. (TYO:5706) plans to resort to imports of bare metal.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Trading houses are scrambling to boost imports of the metal from China and other countries in anticipation of strong demand, boosting premiums for bonded zinc in Shanghai, sources at the firms said.
