FastMarkets reported that according to Commerzbank AG (ETR:CBK), nickel reached a weekly high of $18,500 per tonne this morning as other metals languished.

As quoted in the market news:

The base metals price were little-changed in Tuesday’s premarket following the UK’s return to market after a long weekend.

‘Metal prices this morning are largely making a directionless start to the new week,’ Commerzbank said in a note. ‘The only metal to stand out is once again nickel, which has climbed to a weekly high of around $18,500 per tonne. Thus the nickel price has clearly resumed its upswing following a short breather.’
