Base Metals Investing Reuters reported that the U.N. is expressing concern about security in copper-rich Katanga province where a number of major miners operate, and said much needs to be addressed urgently.

The province, which sits on some of the world’s largest copper reserves, last year exported 600,000 tonnes. Miners including Freeport McMoRan and Glencore already operate there.
