Copper Prices Make Gains, Reach $7,190 a Tonne on LME

Benchmark three-month copper prices on the London Metal Exchange reached $7,190 a tonne – up $30.20 from the previous session, before closing at $7,170 a tonne.

In New York, copper futures for December delivery rose $0.01 to $3.27 a pound, according to MarketWatch.

Positive economic data from top copper consumer China continues to boost prices for the metal. A reduced risk of a military strike on Syria has also helped copper prices today. However, investors are still cautious as they await news from the Federal Reserve next week regarding its stimulus program, Reuters reported.
