Eyecarrot Innovations Corp (TSXV:EYC) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Dr. Pilar Vergara Gimenez and Dr. Salvador Perez Fernandez as its Strategic and Product Advisors. Dr. Gimenez and Dr. Fernandez are leaders in their respective industries and will help launch Eyecarrot’s Binovi Platform within the South American market. Dr. Gimenez and Dr. Fernandez, have established a long-standing community of doctors that are changing the face of optometry in Spain.

About Dr. Pilar Vergara Gimenez OD, FCOVD

Pilar Vergara Gimenez received a diploma from the School of Optometry of the University Complutense of Madrid in 1989 and the University of Granada in 1994. In 1993, she was awarded a Master of Optometry and Visual Training from the International Optometry Center (COI), and throughout her years as faculty at the COI she taught numerous courses on Optometry and Vision Therapy, working alongside Dr. Pilar Plou and the Spanish Olympic shooting Team.

Dr. Gimenez has 28 years of clinical experience and specializes in vision development, Syntonic Phototherapy, Behavioral Optometric Vision Therapy and Neuro- Optometric Vision Therapy for the treatment of patients with congenital and acquired brain injury.

Dr. Gimenez was the first international optometrist to be named as a member of The COVD International Board of Examiners and is also fellow of CSO and BOAF. She has lectured both nationally and internationally, while also teaching alongside world-renowned Dr. Robert Sanet in Spain and Brazil. She currently directs her own clinical practice of Neuro-Behavioral Optometry in Albacete, Spain, focusing her work with children, specifically those with visually-related learning problems, special educational needs, amblyopia and/or strabismus, as well as children and adults who have suffered head injuries.

She is a founder of SIODEC (la Sociedad Internacional de Optometria del Desarrollo y el Comportamiento) and has worked as its secretary for the last eight years.

About Dr. Salvador Perez Fernandez

Salvador Perez Fernandez has a Diploma in Optics and Optometry from the University of Granada and his Masters in Clinical Optometry and Visual Therapy from the International Optometry Center. He completed his specialization in Behavioral Optometry and Visual Therapy with Dr. Robert Sanet and in collaboration with the UPC of Catalonia. In 2007, he became the Director at the VISUAL ANDALUS Behavioral Optometric Center in Andujar, Jaen, Spain, where he presently develops all his clinical activity.

Dr. Fernandez has made several presentations on Vision and Learning, Visual Therapy and Contact Lenses at National and International Congresses as well as several clinics, highlighting the “San Diego Center for Vision Care”, San Diego, USA.

Currently as the Professor of Optometric Specialties at the University of Seville, many Optometrists rely on his expertise as a reference in many areas including clinical care, ongoing training and education. He is also the Clinical and Executive Partner of the International Society of Optometry of Development and Behavior (SIODEC), and is also a member of CSO, EASO, BOAF and COVD.
