Cimphoni is expanding its rapidly-growing technology consulting firm with the addition of a medical device business, Cimphoni Life Sciences, LLC. The company’s new business brings together engineers, industrial designers, physicians and research staff to convert laboratory research and clinical discoveries into medical devices.

Cimphoni Life Sciences and the Medical College of Wisconsin are collaborating to develop medical innovations focused on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of both acute and chronic illnesses. Initial areas of focus include the following:

• In vivo treatment and prevention of osteoporosis
• In vivo accelerated fracture healing
• Immunochromatographic assays for the diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infections
• In vivo diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infections using nano-scale technology
