An article published by Technical 420, covered five cannabis companies that were either in talks with beverage companies such as Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) or had launched their own cannabis-infused beverage lines. Phivida Holdings Inc was one of the companies featured in the article.
Phivida recently announced their joint venture partnership with WeedMD Inc. (TSXV:WMD) which will focus on manufacturing, marketing and distributing cannabinoid-infused beverages for the legal medical and recreational markets. Prior to their agreement with WeedMD, the company also signed an exclusive national agreement with Natural Specialties Sales (NSS), a national network company associated with big name grocers such as Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market and National Co-op Grocers.
All of these deals led up to the release of Phivida’s cannabis-infused beverages and supplements line under the brand name Oki. The line will be available to consumers in approximately 2,400 specialty store locations in the US. The beverages come in two different formulations with each containing 10 milligrams of active hemp extract per bottle, while the supplements, available in tinctures and capsules, range from 600 milligrams to 1,8000 milligrams of active hemp extract. Phivida has ordered 100,000 units of Oki products to be distributed initially and an additional 150,000 units are scheduled to be distributed.
